Tammy Fansabedian has been a Registered Dietitian since 2005. She completed her degree at Ryerson University and her subsequent internship at University Health Network in Toronto. Tammy started her career working clinically at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre specializing in Head and Neck cancers. While working at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, she simultaneously completed her Master’s degree in Nutrition Communication in 2015. Tammy then transitioned into education and became a part of the Ryerson University faculty where she lectures in the Nutrition and Food program and manages the Internationally Educated Professionals in Nutrition program. Tammy is passionate about helping people with diabetes and other metabolic conditions manage their health through their diet. Following a low carbohydrate diet herself for many years, she is an advocate for this way of eating when warranted and accepted by her patients. She believes strongly in personalized nutrition meaning that there is no one pattern of eating that is suitable for all of our different needs. Ultimately, she believes that the best approach to our diet should be to lead with our health in mind, not solely our weight. In this way, we can find a diet that we can sustain and enjoy for life. |
